Waiohine Water Treatment Plant Upgrade

This involved completing a programme of work to increase the available drinking water storage for Wairarapa towns Greytown and Featherston.

The new reservoir holds up to 8 million litres, increasing the water storage by five times and provides a greater level of water supply resilience for both Featherston and Greytown, particularly in the summer months when demand is high.

Stewart Electrical designed and built the chlorine dosing control panel and PLC, installed sample pumps and level controls for two reservoirs, completed a plant network upgrade and commissioned the plant. Installations for this job included a treated water outlet monitoring switchboard and control panel, pump and instrumentation cables and new fibre comms cable.

We had regular progress meetings with the client, consultants and other trades, to ensure we were responsive to required timeframes and completing the job as required. This project was delivered within the expected timeframe with no network disruptions during the upgrade.
